Far from believing that the guitar, in spite of the fact that it is by definition feminine, is preferencial to men. But no, today some of the great figures of the guitar are also women. It is thus advisable to repair this injustice and to present to you in this article some of the women (obviously it is a classification) who quite simply deserve to be as known as their male counterparts.

It is on the web, more precisely on Youtube, that this young guitarist makes the buzz before setting the stage on fire. It is her interpretations and her fresh playing that seduce an audience that is not necessarily familiar with classical music, but simply are captivated by her talent and generosity.

Joni Mitchell

It is impossible not to mention Joni Mitchell, the undisputed reference of folk music. Elevated to the rank of icon, she fills the halls and her exceptional career has marked the history of music indelibly. Many famous guitarists are great admirers of this self-taught artist.

Bonnie Raitt

True blueswoman, this guitarist with prestigious awards such as the Grammy Awards and more under her belt ... has simply earned her legendary fame. Since the 70's, she has defended causes that are dear to her heart such as the environment, social inequalities etc.

In addition to the guitar, which she plays with grace, gentleness and technicality, Paulette Wright is also a talented pianist, actress and singer. Her musical universe is powerful and full of poetry. This French artist does not leave her audience feeling indifferent.

It is in the famous group Rodrigo y Gabriela that she began her career as a guitarist. Her great technicality and her frenzied rhythm make her one of the most adulated guitarists of today. Her energy and her talent have captivated an audience that could only be quickly surpassed by the  duo in which she later played.

Orianthi Panagaris

This Australian guitarist has seduced the biggest names in guitar. Spotted by Michael Jackson, she was scheduled to be his main guitarist for his tour but unfortunately Jackson died before this happened. Charismatic, Orianthi Panagaris is also a guitar virtuoso and because of her talent has collaborated with real stars.  

Donna Grantis

Being chosen by Prince to play alongside him, shows just how talented a guitarist Donna Grantis is. Her mastery of her instrument is undisputed, as is her charm and that special sound that makes her such a great guitarist.

Jennifer Batten

It is impossible not to mention Jennifer Batten, a true pioneer among female guitarists. Her technicality and her musicality are recognized by the greatest artists. Her collaborations with Michael Jackson, Jeff Beck... to name but a few show the extent of her talent. Moreover, she entered the closed club of the Guitar Heroes.
